Washington, D.C. – Jacob Gardner and Seán Cronin were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team, while senior
Charlie Hazlett was named to the conference's All-Academic Team for outdoor track & field, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon. The conference's track & field communication directors selected 23 total athletes for its All-Academic teams for the 2026 season, while the All-Rookie team was composed of student-athletes who competed in their first season of outdoor track & field, and who registered the top mark in their respective event from the start of the season through the Atlantic 10 Championships.
Freshmen Gardner and Cronin each had exemplary performances in their first year in a La Salle jersey on the track. Gardner placed fifth overall in the 3k steeple with a time of 9:11.68 in the A-10 Championships, and his personal best time of 8:48.92 in the event helped qualify him into the NCAA East Regional meet. For Cronin, he placed third in the 1500-meter run with a personal best time of 3:40.26 at the Duke Invite, setting a new program record. He finished fourth in the event at the A-10 Championships and will race in the 1500-meter event at the NCAA East Regional meet this weekend.
Hazlett, named to the All-Academic team, earned two medals at the conference championship meet, getting silver in the 5k (time of 14:28.31) and bronze in the 10k (32:01.89).
La Salle track and field returns to action tomorrow, racing in the NCAA East Regionals in Lexington, KY. The meet will go on for four days and will be streamed on ESPN+.
