EGG HARBOR TWP., N.J. - Senior
Randy Kurzinsky carded a pair of 75s to tie for 11th place as the La Salle golf team finished sixth at the ECAC Championship, which concluded on Saturday at Twisted Dunes Golf Course. Just like Kurzinksy, the Explorers were consistent and shot a team score of 312 each day to finish the tournament at 624.
Sophomore
Mike Johnson tied for 15th with a 72-79=151 (+7), followed by freshman
Greg Goodreds who shot a 78 on Saturday. Combined with a 82 on Friday, he recorded a 160 (+16) to tie for 29th.
Sophomores
Tyler Fewell (83-80=163, +19) and
Tommy Horgan (86-82=168, +24) rounded out the La Salle lineup in 37th and 42nd place, respectively.
Mount St. Mary's Kevin Ellison won the medalist with a 73-70=143 (-1) by one stroke of Siena's Justin Dietz, who shot the day's best score with a 69.
The Mount ran away with the team title by 15 strokes over Saint Peter's. Siena was in third, followed by Fairfield, Monmouth and La Salle.
The Explorers will compete this weekend at the annual Big 5 Invitational at Plymouth Country Club.
