PHILADELPHIA - Fresh off two shutouts and two impressive road victories over the weekend, Melissa Sanger has been awarded La Salle Student Athlete of the Week honors, the department announced today. 

Sanger had a perfect week, recording six saves in net and preserving two shutouts as the women's soccer team went on the road and brought back a pair of road wins against Northeastern and Albany over the weekend. The Explorers have yet to surrender a goal this season through five games. 

The redshirt senior also was named the SoccerSavings.com/PhillySoccerNews.com Player of the Week.  Click here for the full release. 

The redshirt senior is now one shutout shy of tying the all-time La Salle career mark held by Kaitlin Glass. 

La Salle will have the week off before returning to action on Sunday on the road at Princeton.
