PHILADELPHIA - Renee Washington has been selected as GoExplorers.com Student-Athlete of the Week for October 15.
 
Washington scored the game-winning goal in La Salle's 2-1 victory over Charlotte on Sunday, propelling the Explorers into sole possession of first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
 
“It was great for us to get that early goal in the second half to kind of take the pressure off,” said Washington.  “There's no better time to get a win like this than on senior day, it's a great way to send our seniors off with a great win over a good team in Charlotte.”
 
Additionally, Washington assisted in the game-tying goal earlier in the game after the Explorers went down 1-0 in the first half.
 
The goal was the fifth of the season for the junior who has also tallied five assists for 20 points.
