The Match-Up
The Explorers and Dragons met at the DAC last season, with the Dragons taking a 72-59 decision. Then-senior
Alexis Scott drained a career-best 33 points in that contest, with
Brittany Wilson adding 11.
La Salle owns 19-7 all-time advantage in the series dating back to 1974, but the Dragons have won the last two.
Scouting the Explorers
La Salle looks to regroup from a loss to Northeastern on Thursday night. Wilson hit the 20-point mark for the second straight game after scoring 22 in the season opener against Loyola Chicago.
In addition to Wilson's 21.0 ppg average so far, sophomore
Jordan Mosley is contributing 10.0 per contest.
Defensively, Wilson is leading the pack with 6.0 rebounds per game and added a career-high four blocks against the Ramblers last Sunday.
All three freshmen have seen playing time so far, with
Karynda DuPree starting both and Brittany Jenkins-Murray starting against Northeastern.
Arielle Ward has seen time off the bench, pulling down eight boards in her collegiate debut and adding five against the Huskies.
Scouting the Dragons
The Dragons are coming off of a heartbreaking 47-45 loss at the buzzer to Saint Joseph's on Wednesday. They opened the season with a 60-50 win at Providence.
Reigning CAA Player of the Week Hollie Mershon scored 24 against the Friars and added 19 against the Hawks. She is also averaging 6.5 rebounds per game.
Taylor Wootton adds 10.5 per game and Nicki Jones is pulling down a team-high 7.0 boards per game.
The Dragons are shooting an even 40 percent from the field, but just 22.2 percent from three (6-for-27).
