JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The women's tennis team opened its spring season indoors, falling to Saint Peter's College, 4-3, on Saturday at the Yanitelli Center Bubble.
 
The Explorers picked up three singles victories, with freshman Celeste Smith winning at No. 3, sophomore Chloe Trave at No. 4 and junior Jenna Manzione at No. 6.
 
Manzione dropped her first set, 2-6, but then rallied to defeat Saint Peter's Jenna Nowogrodzki 7-6 (7-1) in the second set.  In the final set, Manzione took control and won 6-3.
 
La Salle was swept in the doubles competition at the start of the match.
 
The Explorers will be back in action this weekend when they travel to play NJIT on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
