PHILADELPHIA – La Salle midfielder Jourdan McVicker has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week, the conference office announced today.
 
McVicker scored the game-winning goal at the 65 minute mark of the Explorers season-opening 2-1 victory at No. 20/23 West Virginia on Friday, August 17.  The junior headed in teammate Maryam Huseini's corner kick just six minutes after La Salle netted the equalizing goal.
 
In addition to her offensive contributions, McVicker was tasked with defending WVU's top player, senior Bri Rodriguez, ranked as the 14th best player in the country by TopDrawerSoccer.com.  Thanks to her tenacious defending, Rodriguez only attempted a single shot all game and never was allowed a clear look at the net.
 
The win extends the Explorer's regular season unbeaten streak to 20 games, dating back to October 29, 2010.

The Explorers (1-0-0) return to action on at home on Saturday at 4pm against Iona.
