PHILADELPHIA – La Salle women's soccer has been chosen first in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division I Women's Mid-Atlantic Poll, the association announced today.
Additionally, the Explorers (1-0-0) have been selected first in the receiving votes category of the NSCAA National Poll ahead of 21 other schools including four Big East schools, three SEC schools, three Big XII schools and Atlantic 10 conference foe Dayton (1-1-0).
In the Mid-Atlantic Poll, the Explorers' first place nod is above those of cross-town rival Penn(10
th) and fellow A-10 members Dayton (third) and Charlotte (seventh).
The Explorers' win over West Virginia (1-1-0) last week knocked the Mountaineers out of the No. 20 spot and behind La Salle in the “receiving votes” category.
The Explorers look to improve to 2-0 on season at 4pm on Saturday, August 25 at McCarthy Stadium against Iona.
