PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle men's tennis team closed out their fall season with 5-2 victory over Kutztown University.
 
The Explorers were led by junior De'Sean Fennell, who earned a straight victory in the number one position. The junior earned the victory with a score of 6-3, 7-5.
 
After a hard fought match, La Salle finished with a 6-1 record for the fall season.
 
"It was a great fall season for the team. Everyone improved from match to match and it showed throughout the season," said head coach Tony Green.
 
Freshman Brian Balico improved his individual record to 8-2 with a straight set win. The Paramus, NJ native earned a straight set victory with a score of 6-3 and 7-5.
 
La Salle also received victories from juniors Dale Fetterman, Robert Kasinow and Thomas MacLeod. Fetterman and MacLeod each earned a two set victory over their opponent, while Kasinow fought to a third set victory. Kasinow dropped the first set, before earning two straight set wins at the number four position.
 
Kutztown swept all three doubles matches, giving them the doubles point for the non-conference match.
 
The Explorers will now look ahead to the spring season.
 
"We will have success in the spring season, as long as we carry everything we learned in the fall season to our offseason training and practice" added Green.
