PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team kicks of its spring season with a 1 pm game on Sunday, February 24 against the Women's Professional SUPERGROUP at McCarthy Stadium on La Salle University's campus.
 
The SUPERGROUP, coached by Paul Riley, is comprised of more than 20 players, many of which have already signed with teams in the newly formed National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).
 
"Our girls have been training incredibly hard this spring and their reward is to play against some of our country's top NWSL professional women's players,” head coach Paul Royal said.
 
Royal, who coached two different teams in Women's Professional Soccer (WPS), remembers Riley and several of the players he will be squaring up against on Sunday.
 
“It's exciting to see Riley bring in some familiar faces that we coached during the WPS days with the Philadelphia Independence,” added Royal. “It should be a very entertaining game from both sides."
