PHILADELPHIA - The men's tennis team opened up the 2013-2014 campaign with a tight victory over Saint Thomas Aquinas College, 5-4.

"It was a great team effort to get this first victory of the 2013-2014 campaign," head coach
Tony Green said after the match.

The Explorers were led by victories from junior
Thomas MacLeod.

In singles play, the junior defeated the Spartans William Tronsor is straight sets.

Mark Robinson, in doubles play defeated a pair of Spartans, 8-4.

Brian Balico earned his first victory of his collegiate career with a two set victory over Daniel Maysonet. Balico won each set with a score of 6-4.

"Everyone played well, we are focused on getting better at each practice" MacLeod added about the strong team effort.
