All-Time Series
George Washington holds a 31-4 advantage in the series that dates back to 1981, but the Explorers have taken two of the last three. The Explorers captured a 69-47 victory two seasons ago at the Smith Center.

Scouting the Explorers
The Explorers look to bounce back after back-to-back losses to St. Bonaventure and Saint Joseph's after a record-setting 4-0 start in Atlantic 10 play. They closed a double-digit deficit to just four points late in the game before eventually falling 64-52 to the Hawks on Sunday before a national television audience. Leeza Burdgess recorded her team-leading sixth double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Alicia Cropper poured in a game-high 17 points.

Rookie Micahya Owens continues to lead the squad in scoring with 12.9 ppg while adding 4.7 rpg. Cropper adds 12.1 ppg, 5.0 rpg while dishing out 2.3 assists. Burdgess rounds out the top three scorers with 9.0 ppg while pulling down a team-best 7.7 rpg.

The Explorers have stepped up their numbers in conference play, with Burdgess pulling down 8.8 boards in league games to rank sixth among all A-10 players. She also ranks second in the league with 4.3 offensive boards per game and is in the top 15 with 4.5 defensive boards. Cropper ranks in the top 15 in four categories, including upping her assists to 3.0 apg in league games to rank 15th. She is also in the top 15 in steals (1.5; T-14th), 3-point field goals made (1.8 per game; T-11th), and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4; 12th). Owens ranks eighth in the A-10 by making 16 of her 19 free throw attempts in league games for an 84.2 percent clip.

As a team, the Explorers average 57.2 ppg in league games. Defensively, the squad has found itself among the A-10 leaders in a number of categories, including leading the league in scoring defense and 3-point field goal percent defense and are second in rebounding and in offensive rebounds per game. The Explorers hold A-10 opponents to a scant 52.5 ppg and limit opponents to just 20.5 percent from long range. They are second to GW in rebounding offense, pulling down 43.0 boards per game, and in offensive rebounds with 15.5 per game.

Scouting the Colonials
George Washington looks to bounce back from a midweek loss to St. Joe's despite two players with double-doubles. The Colonials are 4-2 in A-10 play, also dropping a game at Dayton.

Four players average double figures for the Colonials, led by Megan Nipe's 16.0 ppg on the season. Jonquel Jones has lit up in conference play, averaging a double-double of 14.4 ppg and 11.0 rpg overall and 15.8ppg/11.2rpg in A-10 games. She is the only player in the A-10 averaging double figure rebounds in league games. Danni Jackson averages 12.4 ppg while dishing out 5.7 assists, including a league-leading 8.0 apg in A-10 games. Freshman Caira Washington rounds out the top four scorers with 11.5 ppg along with 9.0 rpg.

The Colonials are lethal on the boards, leading the A-10 with 48.5 rebounds per game in league play while limiting opponents to 38.2. That works out to a +10.3 rebounding margin to lead conference opponents by far. They pull down a league-leading 18.0 offensive rebounds in A-10 play and are second with 30.5 defensive boards.

In addition to rebounding, the Colonials have recorded 4.0 blocks and 8.5 steals per game since the start of A-10 play to rank third in both categories.

Offensively, GW scores 76.7 ppg while limiting opponents to 67.6 ppg. The Colonials are shooting 41.8 percent on the season.
