NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - La Salle women's soccer senior
Kelsey Haycook has been named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the week, the conference office announced Monday.
Haycook netted the game-winning goals last week in wins over Dayton and Saint Louis as La Salle remained perfect in A-10 play.
On Friday against the Flyers, Haycook found the back of the net in the 31st minute for a 1-0 victory, snapping a 30-game conference unbeaten streak for UD at home.
At Saint Louis on Sunday, the Point Pleasant, N.J., native tallied a goal in the 86th minute to lift La Salle to their fifth straight win.
This week's accolade marks the tenth time Haycook has earned Weekly Award recognition from the A-10 during her time as an Explorer, and the third time this season.
Haycook leads the league in points (29) and is tied for first in goals (13) on the season. Nationally, the Point Pleasant Boro product is ninth in goals and tied for 13
th in points.
The Explorers will honor Haycook and the rest of the senior class before Friday's home game against the George Mason Patriots. The NSCAA put La Salle at No. 3 in the Mid-Atlantic Region in this week's poll, and the Explorers also received a vote for the National Poll.
