Megan Hodgson Named A-10 Co-Player of the Week

Link to Full A-10 Release

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – La Salle senior center fielder Megan Hodgson was named A-10 Co-Player of the Week earlier today, on the heels of an excellent showing at the Rebel Spring Games last week.

Hodgson fueled the Explorer offense throughout the busy seven game slate, breaking out in a big-way during the final three contests of the week. She blasted home runs in each of the final three games. She blasted a solo-shot in a 5-2 victory over Niagara, while slugging two more round-trippers and collecting five RBI's in a 10-4 victory over UMass Lowell to cap the week's action with a double-header sweep.

Overall, she went 11-for-22 (.500) at the plate with seven of the 11 hits going for extra-bases (3 doubles, 4 home runs). She finished the week with seven runs scored and 11 RBI's.

Hodgson looks well on her way to surpassing the La Salle single-season home run record of ten, which she set last season. She is already halfway to the mark with five homers just two weeks into the season.

The senior standout will look to keep the Explorers momentum going this weekend, as they travel to Baltimore, Md. for the Coppin State Tournament. They will start the two-day tournament with a Saturday double-header against Youngstown State and tournament host Coppin State. The Blue and Gold will wrap up with a double-header against UMass Lowell and Mount St. Mary's on Sunday.
