Philadelphia – The men's tennis team dropped a tough match Thursday morning to city neighbor, Temple, 6-0.
De'Sean Fennell put up a tough fight in the number one singles position, before dropping the first set 7-5. The match was retired after Nicolas Paulus gained a 2-0 lead, and Temple took a 5-0 lead in the match.
"It was a tough match for us, but we just need to keep plugging away against good competition like Temple" said head coach
Tony Green.
Junior
Thomas MacLeod put up a fight against the Owls Santiago Canete before losing in two sets. The junior earned a few games in the first set, but could not get over the hump to earn a set victory.
"It has been a tough few days of play for us, with losing to Fordham yesterday, but we need to look past our mistakes and get ready for our next match on Saturday" added Green.
The Explorers record falls to 6-8. They will look to earn a victory on Saturday, April 5th, when they travel to Olean, N.Y. to play St. Bonaventure.
