KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The La Salle women's soccer team has claimed the No. 1 spot on the Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll, the NSCAA announced Tuesday. The Explorers are coming off a 3-2 win on Sunday over Temple, who is currently ranked No. 7 in the NSCAA's Northeast Poll.

Three of the Explorers games this season have come against opponents currently ranked in this week's poll (No. 3 William & Mary, No. 5 Northeastern and No. 6 Boston).Rhode Island, La Salle's A-10 counterpart, sits at No. 9 in this week's regional ranking.  

The Blue and Gold return to action on Sunday afternoon when they host Florida Gulf Coast (6-3) at McCarthy Stadium at 1 p.m.
