All-Time Series vs. Colonials
The Colonials own a commanding 31-5 lead in the all-time series that dates back to 1981; the Explorers, however, have taken three of the last four including a 77-68 upset at the Smith Center last season. Their last home win over the Colonials was a 73-64 victory on Jan. 29, 2011.

Scouting the Explorers
The Explorers are looking to get back on track and snap a five-game losing streak dating back to Jan. 8. They dropped a 76-47 decision to Saint Louis on Wednesday. Micahya Owens was the lone Explorer in double figures, leading the squad with 18 points against the Billikens.

Owens remains the team scoring leader with a 14.2 ppg clip, which ranks ninth among all Atlantic 10 players. She adds 3.4 rpg and 1.8 apg, and has stepped up her defense as well. The sophomore is now tied for 12th in the league with 1.7 steals per game in A-10 contests, and has snagged 27 steals overall this season.

Alicia Cropper remains in the two spot on the team in scoring, with a 12.9 ppg average. She had scored in double figures in seven consecutive games before being limited to seven points against SLU. Cropper is tied for second on the team with 4.9 boards per game, and also with 2.5 assists. She is squad's top free throw shooter, hitting 78.8 percent of her shots at the charity stripe, and also ranks among the A-10 leaders with a 36.8 percent three-point shooting clip.

Siobhan Beslow rounds out the top three scorers with 7.8 ppg. She ranks fifth in the A-10 by pulling down 3.7 offensive boards per game in league play, while leading the team in overall rebounding with 6.1 rpg. Beslow also ranks among the A-10 leaders by shooting 53.3 percent from the floor against league foes.

Jasmine Alston remains atop the league in steals per game (2.6) while chippng in 6.5 ppg, 4.9 rpg and 3.2 apg.

The Explorers are struggling from the floor lately, particularly from long range. Prior to the five-game skid, they were shooting 35.7 percent from three to rank second in the league; however, they have gone just 21.6 percent in the last five games to drop down to 11th in the A-10.

The Explorers are averaging 62.5 ppg while yielding 64.4 ppg; they are shooting 36.8 percent overall while opponents are shooting 40.6 percent.

Scouting the Colonials
GW enters the weekend on a 15-game win streak and with a No. 24 national ranking, as they have not lost a game since a 75-65 setback to #9/8 Maryland on Nov. 22. The Colonials are coming off of a huge 83-56 win over Duquesne on Wednesday.

A big part of their success is the play of junior Jonquel Jones, a transfer from Clemson. Jones averages a double-double of 16.1 ppg and 11.9 rpg, and is averaging 17.7 ppg and 14.5 rpg in league play. She hits 54.4 percent of her shots from the field; her one weakness is free throw shooting, going just 61.5 percent (32-52) this season.

Caira Washington averages 12.1 ppg and 7.6 rpg to rank second on the squad in both categories. Washington hits 52.2 percent from the field, but also struggles with free throws with a 56.3 percent clip (40-71).

Kelli Prange rounds out the top three scorers with 10.0 ppg and also pulls down 6.4 rpg in her rookie season.

The Colonials are outscoring opponents 73.9 to 58.6 this season. They dominate on the glass with a league-best +13.9 rebounding margin, and also lead the league with 17.6 assists per game. Their weak spot, however, is three-point shooting as they rank dead last in the A-10 with a 27.6 percent clip from long range.

Next Up
The Explorers get a bit of a rest with the bye week, and return to action next Saturday (1/31) when they head to VCU for a 7pm contest.
