MECHANICSVILLE, Va.-Juniors
Francis Ferruzzi and
Bradley Heuer finished in seventh and eighth respectively to lead the La Salle men's cross country team to a fourth place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships on Saturday at Pole Green Park.

Ferruzzi made his move between the second mile and the fifth mile as he moved from 15
th place to third place thanks to a 10:26.0 split, he ultimately ran a 24.51.9 time for seventh place on the five mile course.

Heuer sat in second place after the first time as he ran a time of 4:42.8 to sit near the top of the pack. Heuer and Ferruzzi both earned All-Conference honors thanks to their finishes.

"Fran ran what may have been his best race all season," added head coach
Tom Peterson. "As a team we took a big step forward from last season. We made a bit of a tactical mistake early on, but we will have a chance to correct it next time out at regionals."

La Salle finished in fourth place with 106 team points on the day. There was only eight points separating the second and fourth place teams.

Junior
Stephen Lewandowski was the next Explorer across the line with a time of 25:08.9 for 21
st place overall in the 126 man field. The Mountain Lakes, N.J. native moved up three spots in the final mile.

Senior
Brendan Robertson was the fourth scorer for the Explorers thanks to a 28
th place finish with a time of 25:16.8. Robertson was able to move up eight spots over the final mile to earn 28 points towards the team score.

Graduate student
Nick Libbi was the final point scorer for the Explorers crossing in 42
nd place with a time of 25:30.2.

Redshirt senior
Ian Barnhill and sophomore
Dylan Titon were the sixth and seventh finisher for the Explorers displacing others in scoring. Barnhill finished in 44
th with a time of 25:31.8 and Titon was close behind in 46
th at the 25:36.3 mark.

Juniors
Chris Berry (65
th place, 25:55.9) and
David Ozarowski (79
th place, 26:21.9) and senior Tim Flanagan (81
st place, 26:23.8) also competed for the Explorers. Â

The Explorers return to action on November 13 when they head to Princeton to compete in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals.Â
