PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's tennis team participated in the seventh annual Saint Joseph's Women's Tennis Invitational at the SJU Tennis Complex this weekend.  Student-athletes from seven programs took part in four singles flights and two doubles flights over three days of play.
 
The Explorers saw action against Saint Joseph's, Delaware, Norfolk State, George Washington, Loyola and Bucknell.
 
Alex Santerelli and Jade Smith made a run at SJU's Anne Marie Devlin and Robyn Ferraro in Friday's consolation draw, eventually falling 8-4.
 
Jayla Smith took the opening set from Devlin a singles flight 3 match on Sunday before dropping the set  5-7, 6-4, 10-5.
 
The Explorers are back in action this Saturday as they visit Temple at the TU Pavilion.
