KANSAS CITY – La Salle University is one of just 208 schools to have both their men's and women's soccer programs recognized with the NSCAA Team Academic Award, it was announced Thursday.
The women's soccer team tallied a 3.21 GPA in 2014-2015 to earn the recognition for the 13th consecutive season, including all twelve years under head coach
Paul Royal.
The recognition marks the fifth time in the past nine years that head coach
Pat Farrell's team has earned the achievement. The men's soccer team compiled a 3.13 GPA in 2014-2015.
The NSCAA annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field. A total of 859 soccer teams (305 men, 554 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 academic year.
