PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball looks for a third straight win on Saturday morning as they host the Richmond Spiders in Tom Gola Arena to open Atlantic 10 conference play. Tipoff is set for 11 a.m., and will be televised on CBSSN.

Micahya Owens nailed a three-pointer with 26 seconds remaining to tally her 1,000th career point as La Salle defeated Monmouth 65-50 for the Hawk Holiday Classic title on Wednesday afternoon. Owens entered the game needing eight points to become the 24th Explorer to score 1,000 career points. The Willingboro, N.J. native finished with nine points, all on three-pointers, three rebounds and two assists.

Amy Griffin helped the Explorers get off to a strong start, scoring 15 of her career-high 31 points in the opening half. The sophomore finished 13-of-26 from the field and pulled down nine rebounds and was named Tournament MVP.

Jasmine Alston also reached a career-high for the Explorers, dishing out 11 assists to eclipse her previous high of nine. The junior finished also finished with nine rebounds and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
-La Salle hit a season-high nine three-pointers and tied the season high in steals with 14 in the win over Monmouth.
Scouting the Spiders-Richmond concluded non-conference play with a 71-51 loss at Virginia on Tuesday night in John Paul Jones Arena. Freshman Taisha Murphy posted a career-high 14 points on 5-7 shooting and 4-6 from three-point range to lead the Spiders.
-Janelle Hubbard is three points shy of becoming Richmond's 22nd member of the 1,000-point club. Hubbard is averaging a career-best 14.9 points per game this season and enters Saturday's game with 997 career points.
-Karleigh Wike was solid in the Cavalier Classic Tournament last week, posting an 11-point, 12-rebound night opposite Lafayette and six points and six boards against Virginia.
