PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team is hosting the American Eagles on Sunday afternoon in their final game before the UNC Wilmington Thanksgiving Classic next weekend.

La Salle is 6-2 all-time against American, and has won the past four meetings with the Eagles.
The two teams met eight times between 1980 and 1995.
 
Scouting the Explorers
-Last season's Atlantic 10 scoring champion Amy Griffin is off to another strong start, pacing the conference in scoring with 21.7 points per game so far this season.
 
-Jasmine Alston is third in the league in both assists per game (6.3) and steals per game (3.0) after leading the A-10 in both categories in 2015-16.
 
-Despite starting the season 0-3, La Salle has outrebounded opponents in back-to-back games. The Explorers held a 40-33 advantage on the boards against Rider after securing 41 rebounds to Temple's 39 on Monday.
 
-Ashanti Freeland is sixth in the A-10 in rebounds with 8.3 per game, thanks in part to a career-high 14 boards against Temple.
 
-Amy Griffin is pulling down 7.0 rebounds per game, including 3.7 offensive rebounds per game
-The Explorers are third in the conference with 52 offensive rebounds (17.3 per game)
 
Scouting the Eagles
-American is coming off a 56-55 overtime loss to Delaware in their home opener on Wednesday night after opening the season on the road with a 77-64 win over Youngstown State.
 
-Sophomore Cecily Carl led the Eagles' scoring efforts on Wednesday, putting up 15 points and six rebounds. 
 
-Junior Emily Kinneston nearly matched her career-high with a 13-point tally, and filled the stat sheet with eight assists and eight rebounds.
