Explorers Host Delaware State for Wednesday Matinee

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team will look for a fourth straight win on Wednesday when they host the Delaware State Hornets in Tom Gola Arena. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.

All-Time Series vs Delaware State

The Explorers were victorious in the only two previous meetings with Delaware State. La Salle defeated the Hornets 71-63 on the road in 1997 and then 84-59 at home the following season. 
 
Scouting the Explorers
-The Explorers are riding a three-game win streak after a 68-61 win over Fairfield on Dec. 10, and are winners of six of their last seven
 
-Amy Griffin was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and Co-Big 5 Player of the Week on December 12 after averaging 22.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for La Salle
 
-Jasmine Alston recorded her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds against the Stags
 
-Griffin and Lisa Mintzer have both swatted their way onto the top 10 list for career blocks this season: Griffin is 6th with 71 while Mintzer is tied for 8th with 60
 
-Micahya Owens netted 14 points off the bench against the Stags as the La Salle reserves outscored Fairfield's reserves 28-16
 
-The matchup with Fairfield started a stretch where the Explorers will play seven of eight games in Tom Gola Arena
 
Scouting the Hornets
-DSU has dropped their last five games, and fell 88-57 at Iowa State their last time out (December 18).
 
-Sophomore Najai Pollard is ranked tenth nationally in double-doubles with six. The Richmond, Va. native ranks first in the conference in field goal percentage (54.4%), points per game (18.4), and rebounds per game (9.9).
 
-The team held Wagner to under 30 percent shooting from the field (26.2) in its only win of the season, while allowing all other opponents to shoot over 33%.
 
-DSU is 0-2 against teams located in the state of Pennsylvania this season after losses to Drexel and Lehigh.
 
-The Hornets are in the midst of a four-game road swing, and will visit Longwood and Virginia Tech before the end of 2016.
