Women’s Basketball Hosts Harvard Wednesday in Final Nonconference Game

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team will play their final nonconference on Wednesday as they host the Harvard Crimson at Tom Gola Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.

All-Time Series vs Harvard

Wednesday's game marks the third meeting between the two programs, and the first since 1999. The Explorers captured an 86-79 meeting at Harvard on Dec. 4, 1994 before falling in the semifinal of the 1999 ECAC holiday Festival 74-71 to the Crimson.
 
Scouting the Explorers
-La Salle tied a season-high with 22 assists in the win over URI, including a season-high 13 assists from Jasmine Alston.
 
-With two steals on Monday, Alston tied Jennifer McGowan (233 steals, 1988-93) as La Salle's all-time leader in career steals.
 
-The Explorers had four scorers in double figures for just the second time this season against the Rams. Amy Griffin paced the team with 15 points while Micahya Owens chipped in 14. Junior Ashanti Freeland poured in a season-high 12 points while senior Lisa Mintzer posted a career-high 10 points.
 
-The Explorers were 11-for-12 from the free throw line on Monday, and now lead the A-10 in team free throw shooting (75.5%).
 
-La Salle was 27-for-57 (47.4%) from the field on Monday, and are now 6-2 when shooting 40% or better from the field.
 
Scouting the Crimson
-Harvard defeated Dartmouth 70-65 in its Ivy League opener on Saturday afternoon. The win was Harvard's 12th in a row and lifted the Crimson to a 6-0 record at home this season
 
-The Crimson now have the fifth longest winning streak in the nation. Harvard's streak is the longest since a 12-game run during the 2006-07 season.
 
-Harvard has three scorers averaging double figures, led by Katie Benzan's 12.7 points per game. Destiny Nunley averages 11.7 points per game while Madeline Raster posts 10.2 ppg. 
 
-The Crimson entered the week ranked 30th in the nation with an average of 43.5 rebounds per game, and has an average rebounding margin of +8.8 (30th, NCAA). Freshman Jeannie Boehm leads the team on the glass with 7.2 rebounds per game.
