Blustery First Day for Men's Golf at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The La Salle University men's golf team fought windy conditions throughout the first day of the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday. Led by junior Nick Geiman and freshman David Kim, the Explorers shot 310 and stand in 15th place following 18 holes.

Geiman is tied for 12th individually after an two-over par round of 72, and registered three birdies on his round to rank in a tie for 12th amongst the field of 93 golfers. The York, Pa. product also finished in a tie for fifth in par-4 scoring (4.00).

Kim is three strokes behind his teammate at 75 and made the turn at even-par after carding seven pars, one birdie and just a single bogey. Kim tied junior Nick Gruber for the team lead with 10 pars on his round.

Gruber carded an 82 and is one stroke behind senior Brandon Raihl (81). Freshman Ron Fischang was the final competitor for the Explorers and closed at 83.

La Salle concludes play at the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 8.
