WASHINGTON – The La Salle women's basketball team looks to keep the ball rolling on Monday night as they tipoff against American at Bender Arena at 7 p.m.

Scouting the Explorers
-La Salle started the season on the right foot with a 74-47 pounding of Lafayette on the road Friday night.
-Amy Griffin scored 30 points in Friday's opener, thanks in part to a career-high seven three-point field goals. The senior finished 10-for-18 from the field and grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
-Shalina Miller scored a career-high 16 points at Lafayette, going 7-for-12 from the floor. The sophomore had 12 points in the first half, and four of her six rebounds were on the offensive glass.
-Shaquana Edwards chipped in 17 points, seven assists and five rebounds in her collegiate debut. The Hartford, Conn. native also had a game-high four steals.
-A total of six Explorers made their debuts on Friday. Deja King had six points and four assists in 24 minutes while Jeryn Reese had five rebounds in 16 minutes.
-La Salle leads American 6-2 in the all-time series, which dates back to 1980. The two teams played last November in Tom Gola Arena, with the Explorers coming away with a 63-59 victory.
-La Salle will visit crosstown foe Drexel on Thursday night to cap a string of three road contests to being the season.
Scouting the Eagles
-American started the season off with a win on Friday, defeating the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes 72-67 on the road.
-Senior Emily Kinneston paced the Eagles with 25 points, missing her career-high by one point. Fellow-senior Michael Harris tied her career-high with 16 points for the night while junior Cecily Carl grabbed a game-high 11 boards and had three blocks.
-The Eagles shot 36.7 percent from the field, including 38.1 percent from behind the arc, and an impressive 80 percent from the free throw line.
-AU went 15-16 last season, including 11-7 in the Patriot League. The Eagles advanced to the Patriot League semifinal, where they lost 69-57 to Bucknell.
