Explorers Visit Crosstown Foe Drexel Thursday

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team (1-1) makes the short trip across town to match up with the Drexel Dragons (0-1) on Thursday night at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.

Scouting the Explorers

-La Salle is looking to rebound from a 66-48 loss at American on Monday night.
 
-Adreana Miller led all scorers with 20 points in her season debut against the Eagles, going an efficient 7-for-11 from the field and 5-for-6 from the foul line.
 
-La Salle had a share of both of the first Atlantic 10 women's basketball awards, which were announced by the league office on Monday. Amy Griffin was named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week while Shaquana Edwards earned Rookie of the Week for their performances against Lafayette last Friday.
 
-Griffin scored 30 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field, including a career-high seven three-point field goals while Edwards tallied 17 points, seven assists and five rebounds in her collegiate debut.
 
-La Salle leads the all-time series with Drexel 19-8, though the two teams haven't meet since 2012.
 
Scouting the Dragons
-Drexel fell 84-70 to Penn State on the road in the season opener on Sunday afternoon. Aubree Brown and Eline Maesschalck put up career highs with 16 and 12 points, respectively.
 
-The Dragons were done in by foul trouble against the Nittany Lions, committing 27 personal fouls that sent PSU to the line 31 times in the game.
 
-Drexel will be in search of its fifth consecutive victory in a home opener, which would be the longest streak in program history. The Dragons are 19-16 overall in home openers coming into Thursday's contest.
 
-The Dragons played 16 games at the Daskalakis Athletic Center last season, and went 13-3 in those games.
