Haugstad, Bower Earn United Soccer Coaches All-Region Recognition

KANSAS CITY – La Salle's Kristin Haugstad and Madison Bower were named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's All-East Region Teams, it was announced Tuesday.
 
Haugstad earned a spot on the All-East Region Second Team as a midfielder after finishing the regular season with 24 points on eight goals and eight assists. The senior was named First Team All-Conference and continued to play at a high level in the postseason, earning an A-10 All-Championship selection.
 
The Nesodden, Norway native scored a goal in the opening round win over Dayton, assisted the golden goal in the A-10 semifinal win over Duquesne and added a helper in the NCAA Tournament first round game at Rutgers.
 
Bower was named to the All-East Region Third Team at forward after leading the A-10 with 25 points thanks to nine goals and seven assists. A First Team All-Conference selection, Bower came up clutch during the postseason and earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team.
 
The redshirt junior tallied a goal and two assists in the A-10 Championship, including the game-winning goal in overtime of the semifinal and the game-winning assist in the final. The Millville, Pa. product also scored at Rutgers in the NCAA Tournament.
 
La Salle set a new program record for goals in a season with 48 and tied the 2011 team for most wins (17) in a season in program history.
