DANBURY, Conn. – La Salle's Madison Bower, Kristin Haugstad and Paige McDowell were named to the All-ECAC First Team, the Eastern College Athletic Conference announced this week.
Bower, who was also named United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Third Team at forward, led the A-10 with 25 points thanks to nine goals and seven assists. A First Team All-Conference selection, Bower came up clutch during the postseason and earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team.
The redshirt junior tallied a goal and two assists in the A-10 Championship, including the game-winning goal in overtime of the semifinal and the game-winning assist in the final. The Millville, Pa. product also scored at Rutgers in the NCAA Tournament.
Haugstad adds the All-ECAC nod to a United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Second Team selection as a midfielder after finishing the regular season with 24 points on eight goals and eight assists. The senior was named First Team All-Conference and continued to play at a high level in the postseason, earning an A-10 All-Championship selection.
The Nesodden, Norway native scored a goal in the opening round win over Dayton, assisted the golden goal in the A-10 semifinal win over Duquesne and added a helper in the NCAA Tournament first round game at Rutgers.
McDowell earned the All-ECAC selection after garnering All-Conference First Team honors for the second time in her career (2014). The Churchville, Pa. native helped the Explorer defense record 13 shutouts. La Salle had just a 0.49 goals-against average during the regular season when McDowell was on the pitch.
Three ECAC honorees is the most for La Salle since 2011, when Jess Hopton, Melissa Sanger and Kelsey Haycook were named All-ECAC.
