PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team begins Atlantic 10 play on Sunday as they host the Dayton Flyers at Tom Gola Arena at TruMark Financial Center. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.

Scouting the Explorers
-La Salle will look to rebound from a loss to No. 20 Villanova at home on December 20.

Adreana Miller had a team-high 18 points against the Wildcats, and is second only to
Amy Griffin (16.2 ppg) with 12.0 points per game this season. The junior also has a team-high 20 three-point field goals.
-The Explorers are fourth in the Atlantic 10 with 3.8 blocks per game. Griffin accounts for 1.4 bpg while
Shalina Miller averages 1.1.
-La Salle also opened the 2016-17 A-10 schedule against Dayton. The Explorers edged the Flyers, 54-51, on the road on December 4.
Scouting the Flyers
-Dayton ended the New Orleans Shootout on December 21 with a 65-46 win over Mississippi Valley State after falling 93-87 to South Florida (Dec. 20).
-UD head coach Shauna Green is in her second season at the helm of the Flyers after going 22-10 last year. The WBCA National Rookie Coach of the Year returns an experienced squad with three seniors, and six juniors.
-Senior Jenna Burdette leads the Flyers with 14.6 points per game and 3.5 assists while sophomore Jayla Scaife adds 14.0 points and 5.5 rebounds.
-Senior JaVonna Layfield is averaging a double-double with 10.5 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. Layfield's 10.7 rebounds per game ranks third in the league.
