Box Score PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle women's basketball team (5-8, 0-1 A-10) fell in their A-10 opener to the Dayton Flyers (7-4, 1-0) on Sunday afternoon at Tom Gola Arena at TruMark Financial Center.
After trailing by as many as 12 in the opening quarter, the Explorers cut an early deficit to one point in the 2

UD led by five at the break before Edwards opened the 3
rd quarter with a three to make it a two-point game. The Flyers, however, answered with 13 straight points to put La Salle out of contention.
Adreana Miller had a team-high 17 points, going 6-for-18 from the field and 5-for-7 from the foul line. Edwards was the other scorer in double figures for La Salle, adding 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting.
Rayshel Brown scored a career-high eight points in 21 minutes off the bench. The freshman was an efficient 3-for-4 from the field but the Explorers shot just 32.1 percent (17-for-53) as a team.
Dayton had four scorers in double figures, including a 12-point, 24-rebound double-double by JaVonna Layfield. Jenna Burdette and Lauren Cannattelli added 12 points apiece as well while Alex Harris and Tiaera Phillips each scored 11.
The Flyers shot 43.9 percent (29-for-66) from the field, and hit 8-of-16 attempts from beyond the arc. UD held a 42-38 advantage on the glass for the game.
The Explorers wrap up a three-game home stand on Wednesday when the George Mason Patriots visit Tom Gola Arena. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
