Explorers Host Saint Louis Wednesday Night

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team welcomes the Saint Louis Billikens to Tom Gola Arena on Wednesday night. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.

Scouting the Explorers

-The Explorers have won six of their last eight games and are looking to rebound from a 67-58 loss at Saint Joseph's on Sunday afternoon. 
 
-Amy Griffin had a game-high 24 points against the Hawks and averaged 21.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in two games last week. Griffin leads the A-10 in scoring with 19.8 points per game.
 
-Micahya Owens has 1,445 career points, and needs just seven points to pass Jill Crandley (1982-86) and move into 7th place on La Salle's all-time scoring list.
 
-Jasmine Alston, who is 8th in the NCAA in assists (7.1 apg) and 3rd in the A-10 in rebounds (8.8 rpg), is the only player in program history to appear in the top five in all-time rebounding and assists. The senior has 755 career rebounds (5th all-time) and 563 career assists (2nd all-time).
 
-Alston is also second in the A-10 with 2.5 steals per game.
 
-La Salle leads the league in blocked shots with 6.1 blocks per game.
 
-The Explorers are third in the A-10 in offensive rebounds with 14.4 offensive rebounds per game. Alston pulls down 2.9 offensive rebounds per game, which is 8th in the A-10.
 
Scouting the Billikens
-Saint Louis is coming off a 74-58 victory at St. Bonaventure Saturday. The win gave the Billikens their second consecutive 20-win season.
 
-SLU is tied with George Washington for second place in the conference standings, one game behind Dayton. The Billikens have a chance not only to earn an A-10 Championship first-round bye (top two teams), but also to claim at least a share of a second consecutive regular-season league title.
 
-The Billikens lead the A-10 in scoring offense (74.3 ppg), field goal percentage (.446), assists (18.7 apg), assist-turnover ratio (1.46:1), defensive rebounding (29.0 drpg), 3-point field goals (7.1/game) and scoring margin (+13.8 ppg).
 
-Three Billikens average double digits in the scoring column, led by Jackie Kemph (14.7 ppg). Sadie Stipanovich records 13.7 points per game, followed by Jordyn Frantz (12.4 ppg). Kemph also leads the league with 7.5 assists per game.
 
-The Billikens were ranked No. 10 in the most recent (Feb. 1) ESPNW national mid-major poll.

The Explorers hit the road for the final time in the regular season on Sunday when they visit the Massachusetts Minutewomen for a 1 p.m. tipoff from the Mullins Center. The Explorers are looking to sweep the season series after a 68-64 win over UMass at Tom Gola Arena on January 25.
