-The Explorers held a 56-46 advantage on the boards on Wednesday thanks to a season-high 35 offensive rebounds. The 56 total rebounds were also a season-high and just two rebounds shy of the all-time record for a single game, which was set against St. Mary's in 1989.
-Jas Alston secured a game-high 13 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive glass, and
Ashanti Freeland had 12 rebounds (the second highest total for each player this season).
-Alston also tied a season-high with six steals as the Explorers forced Rhody into 30 turnovers, the most forced turnovers in a single game this season for La Salle.
Scouting the Colonials
- GW got back in the win column with a strong second half to top visiting Fordham, 63-46, on Wednesday afternoon. The Colonials were coming off back-to-back losses at Saint Louis (Jan. 26) and at home against Duquesne (Jan. 29).
- Caira Washington returned to the lineup after a four-game absence and responded with a season-high 21 points and eight rebounds while dishing out a career-high six assists. The also senior pulled down her 1,000th career rebound to become just the second player in program history with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, joining Darlene Saar ('95).
- Lexi Martins chipped in 20 points and added eight rebounds in the win over Fordham. With Washington and Martins both scoring 20-plus points, the Colonials had two 20-point scorers in the same game for the first time since December 13, 2015.
-GW turned the ball over just 13 times over their last two games, and rank third in the A-10 with a 1.1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
-The Colonials are third in the league in both scoring offense (65.8) and scoring defense (58.8), and second in the A-10 in scoring margin (+7.0).
