ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The La Salle University men's golf squad rounded out its regular season on Sunday with the second and final round of the Navy Spring Invitational. The Explorers shaved five strokes off their first-round score and closed in eighth place at 615.
Individually, senior
Joe Markmann, who entered Sunday one stroke off the lead, shot 77 to finish in a tie for 15th at 149. Senior
P.J. Acierno shot his second straight round of 75 and also closed in the top 20 (T-19th).
Junior
Brandon Raihl had the best round of the day, improving by an impressive 12 shots from his first-round score and carding a three-over par 74. He finished in a tie for 51st with sophomore
Nick Geiman.
Sophomore
Nick Gruber and freshman
Evan Gaesser each shot 78 over their final rounds and closed in ties for 39th and 43rd, respectively.
George Mason earned a six-stroke win over St. John's for the team title, while GMU's Kyle Hart overtook Wagner's Lucas Moreno for medalist honors.
La Salle heads south for its next event, the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championships at the Villas of Grand Cypress in Orlando, Fla. on April 28-30.
