Women’s Basketball Gears Up for First A-10 Road Game at Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. – The La Salle women's basketball heads to Richmond for their first A-10 road game on Saturday against the Spiders. Tipoff from the Robins Center is set for 6 p.m.

Scouting the Explorers

-La Salle fell to George Mason 69-56 at home on Wednesday evening, and will look to halt a three-game skid on Saturday at Richmond.
 
-Ashanti Freeland pulled down a season-high 13 rebounds on Wednesday, also the most by an Explorer this season. The senior finished one rebound shy of her career-high of 14, which came at Temple last season.  
 
-With 14 points against George Mason, Amy Griffin (1,514 career points) passed Maureen Kramer (1977-81) for 4th place on the all-time scoring list at La Salle. The senior needs 131 points to tie Crista Ricketts (2003-07) for third place. 
 
-Adreana Miller has connected on 123 attempts from three-point range in her career, which puts her in sole possession of 10th place in program history. Next on the list is Sarah Hynes, who hit 126 triples from 1994-1998.
 
-After three straight home games, the Explorers will hit the road for four of their next five games.
 
Scouting the Spiders
-Richmond dropped a 79-61 decision to Saint Louis on Wednesday after opening conference play with a 74-53 win at Rhode Island on Sunday.
 
-Freshman Alex Parson led the Spiders with 18 points against SLU, but Richmond shot just 25 percent (18-for-72) as a team from the field.
 
-Parson's older sister, Micaela, leads Richmond in scoring this season with 17.6 points per game. The senior is currently third in the A-10 in scoring behind Natalie Butler (18.6) and Nicole Cardano-Hillary (17.8), both of George Mason.
 
-Senior Alicia Hudalla grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds against Billikens on Wednesday, which was also a game-high.
