PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team (0-5) will return to Tom Gola Arena for the first time since its season opener on Nov. 6, when the Explorers host Drexel (4-1) on Wednesday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
- La Salle was last in action a week ago Tuesday as the team fell to Villanova, 68-81, at The Pavilion.
- Against the Wildcats, the Explorers had their best game offensively. In the team's Big 5 opener, La Salle tied its season high in points (68), while setting season highs in field goals (26) and field goal percentage (39.4%).
- Junior Shalina Miller paced the team with 15 points, with senior Jeryn Reese posted a career best 10 points.
- On the season, sophomore Rayshel Brown is leading the team with 8.2 points per game, shooting 45.7% from the floor. Miller is posting 8.0 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, leading the teams rebounding efforts.
SCOUTING THE DRAGONS:
- After falling in its season opener, Drexel has won four straight games, including being named the TD Bank Classic Tournament Champions over the holiday break with wins over Siena (51-39) and Vermont (60-44).
- Junior Bailey Greenberg is leading the team in points (19.0) and rebounds (7.2) per game, starting all five games on the season.
- Collectively, the team is averaging 55.6 points per game, while holding opponents to just 43.0 points.
THE SERIES:
- La Salle leads the all-time series 19-9 dating back to 1974, however the Dragons have taken the last four meetings. The Explorers last win came in 2009 at Drexel, while the last home win was in 2008.
