Explorers Host Richmond Saturday For Play Pink Game

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball will look to carry the momentum from a midweek triumph over Saint Louis as they welcome the Richmond Spiders to Tom Gola Arena on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. The Explorers will be wearing pink laces to support breast cancer awareness.

Scouting the Explorers

-La Salle had four scorers in double figures to knock off Saint Louis 87-76 at home on Wednesday night, snapping a three-game win streak for the Billikens and halting a three-game skid for the Explorers.
 
-Wednesday's game was tied for 3:18 of game clock while La Salle led for 32:48 and only trailed for 3:54.  Saint Louis didn't hold a lead after the 1:24 mark in the 1st quarter but were within a possession of tying the game in the 4th quarter before the Explorers went 16-for-16 from the foul line over the final 10 minutes to seal the win.
 
-Shaquana Edwards, who had 18 points and seven assists in the game, went a perfect 10-for-10 from the line in the game. The redshirt freshman has scored in double figures in four straight games, averaging 14.3 points per game during that stretch. In her last two games, Edwards has dished out 17 assists compared to just three turnovers.
 
-Adreana Miller drilled a career-high six three-point field goals on the way to matching her season-high of 25 points in the win over SLU. The junior also matched her season-high with seven rebounds.
 
-Shalina Miller grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds to notch her second double-double of the season on Wednesday. Miller tallied her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 boards against Rider on December 6.
 
-87 points is tied for the highest point total for La Salle during the Jeff Williams era. The Explorers defeated Oral Roberts 87-57 on November 22, 2010, during Williams' first season at the helm.
 
Scouting the Spiders
-Richmond had their conference bye this week after dropping a 78-70 decision to Duquesne at home on Saturday.

-Micaela Parson leads Richmond in scoring (18.1 ppg), rebounding (6.4 rpg) and steals (2.5 spg), and against Duquesne was only Spider to reach double figures for the second-straight game. The senior dropped a season-high 28 points to go with six rebounds, seven assists and three steals against the Dukes.
 
-Richmond leads the Atlantic 10 with 8.8 steals per game. Micaela Parson is second in the league with 2.5 steals per game while Alex Parson and Kylie Murphree are averaging 1.3 steals each.
 
-The Spiders have taken the most field goals (1,599) in the Atlantic 10 this season, but are last in the league in field goal percentage (36.3 %).
 
-Richmond is second in the A-10 in offensive rebounds with 16.8 per game.
