MIAMISBURG, Ohio - The La Salle University women's tennis team was upended by Wright State, 7-0, in a non-conference match on Monday.
The Explorers earned a victory in the doubles portion of the match, as senior
Jayla Smith and sophomore
Maansi Malhotra defeated Anna Jones and Anna Marie Reynolds, 7-6, at the No. 3 position.
Smith nearly had a singles-doubles sweep, winning the first set of her match against Jones at the No. 6 spot, 6-4. Jones won the second set by the same margin, before winning the supertiebreaker, 10-2.
Wright State picked up five straight-set wins as well as two doubles victories at the top two positions to improve to 9-8 on the season. La Salle falls to 1-6.
The Explorers are back in action on Tuesday, March 13 with an Atlantic 10 match at St. Bonaventure in Olean, N.Y.
