BOARDMAN, Ohio - Despite going to a tiebreaker in three singles sets and winning two more, the La Salle University men's tennis team could not break through in a 7-0 loss to Youngstown State on Thursday.
The Penguins picked up an early point via three doubles victories, before singles action started. Junior
Francesco Mowrey won a second-set tiebreak to force a third set but dropped a super tiebreaker at the top singles position.
At No. 4, senior
Tomas Christian won the second set of his match, 6-4, which would ultimately be won by Yossi Dahan. Freshmen
Connor Merrill and
Rogelio Gonzalez fought to tiebreakers in their matches at No. 2 and No. 3, but fell in straight sets.
La Salle concludes its spring break trip on Saturday, March 17 against Loyola (Md.).
