PHILADELPHIA – Newcomer
Sydney King won the 200-meter dash to guide the way for the La Salle University women's track team in its outdoor season opener at the Penn Challenge on Saturday.
King claimed the 200-meter crown in her very first career outdoor meet with La Salle, finishing the sprint in 27.52.
Tyller Moorer was just two spots behind King in the 200 meters as well, posting a time of 29.63 to place third.
Amber Jenkins finished eighth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.76, while
Marissa Francis ran in 13.10 for 12th place.
Makayla Eberly placed ninth among 26 finishers in the 800 meters at 2:21.26, and
Alexa Clark was 18th at 2:32.99. In the 3,000-meter race,
Michelle Myland ran in 10:28.06 for 15th place out of 31 qualifiers.

Desirae Osley, King and
Chidinma Matthew teamed together to register a runner-up finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:03.31.
La Salle will compete at the Fred Hardy Invitational next weekend in Richmond, Va.
