PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle softball home opener against Rhode Island has been cancelled after a lengthy rain delay, it was announced late Friday afternoon. The game was originally supposed to start at 3 p.m. but entered a delay when heavy rains swept through the city around 2:30 p.m. 
 
The two teams will play a doubleheader as scheduled on Saturday afternoon at West Campus Field.
