MALVERN, Pa. - The La Salle University men's golf team posted its best round of the spring season on Tuesday afternoon at the Wildcat Invitational, totaling 302 to move up the leaderboard on the final day of the competition.
The Explorers had four golfers card scores of 78 or lower, including a team-best 74 from junior
Nick Gruber. Gruber totaled 146 over the 36-hole event to tie for 16th overall.
Freshmen
David Kim and Ronald Fischang each finished one stroke behind their teammate at 75, with Kim closing the tournament at 153 and in a tie for 64th. Senior
Brandon Raihl shot his second consecutive round of 78, while junior
Nick Geiman finished with an 82.
Drexel won the team title by five strokes over Rhode Island, while Saint Peter's golfer David Powers earned medalist honors.
La Salle will host the Finegan Invitational on Monday, April 16 at Chester Valley Golf Course in Malvern, Pa.
