Jamie Scott Accepts Assistant AD/Head Coaching Position at Immaculata

Scott

Women's Soccer | May 18, 2018

PHILADELPHIA - La Salle University assistant women's soccer coach Jamie Scott has accepted a position as head men's soccer coach and assistant director of athletics at Immaculata University, it was announced recently. Scott served on Paul Royal's staff for six seasons, helping the Explorers to four NCAA Tournament berths.

"Jamie is a remarkable person and coach who helped lead our La Salle program to new heights," Royal said. "It's always a sad moment to lose another amazing assistant and exceptional person, but it gives me such great pride in knowing he's moving onto to bigger things. Immaculata men's soccer is very lucky to have such a great man leading them."

Scott joined the La Salle women's soccer staff in 2012 and has since helped the Explorers become a regional powerhouse. La Salle won the Atlantic 10 regular-season title three times during his tenure, won the Atlantic 10 Tournament three times, and made four appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

"With mixed emotions of sadness and excitement, I am taking on a new opportunity," Scott said. "This has been such a difficult decision to make due to the amazing people at La Salle. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work alongside such great people and coaches like Courtney Niemiec and others. I consider myself hugely fortunate to have been mentored by Coach Royal and I believe to have learned under the best. Without him, I know I would not be in the position I am today."

A native of London, England, Scott has focused on coaching the La Salle attack, with the Explorers setting a program record with 47 goals in 2017. Most recently, he was named the Co-Assistant Coach of the Year at La Salle's Awards Luncheon and was named the 2017 Boys Travel Coach of the Year by the Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer Award Committee.

"Finally, the greatest appreciation must go out to our amazing women's soccer team who gave me some of the greatest times," Scott concluded. "I will miss them all greatly. I'll always be their number one fan as they continue to achieve incredible things. La Salle has become my adopted alma mater and I'll always consider myself an Explorer."
