PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team (3-14, 0-3 A-10) is set to host the defending Atlantic 10 Tournament Champion George Washington Colonials (5-11, 2-1 A-10) on Wednesday as part of La Salle's basketball double header. Also, at the game, the Explorers will offer multiple promotions, including dollar dog night, prize raffles, and the first 1,000 fans will receive a free La Salle phone wallet.

SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • La Salle has dropped its last five games, most recently falling to UMass, 74-60. It was a back and forth game, however the Minutewomen pulled away in the fourth quarter. Three different Explorers scored in double figures, led by sophomore Rayshel Brown, while junior Shalina Miller and freshman Janay Sanders neared double-doubles.
  • At least one Explorer has scored a career high in points in seven of the last nine games.
  • Over the last 12 games, La Salle has posted a +29 turnover margin, with only four negative outings. Over that span, the team has collected 128 steals - good enough for 10.6 per contest.
  • With its success in the turnover department, La Salle ranks fifth in the conference with a +0.5 turnover margin, which coincides with the team's skill at grabbing steals. The Explorers are first in the A-10 in both steals (169) and steals per game (9.9). The 169 steals has La Salle ranked 27th nationally.
  • The game against GW will be the second of six consecutive games in the city of Philadelphia for the Explorers.
  • Sophomore Michelle Nicholls is the team's active leading scorer with 7.9 points per game. Sophomore Rayshel Brown (7.1 ppg) and junior Shalina Miller (6.9 ppg) are the next top scorers, while Miller paces the team in rebounds/game with 6.4.
SCOUTING THE COLONIALS:
  • GW enters Wednesday's game at 5-7, 2-1 A-10 on the season after winning three of its last four games, including its last two over Dayton and Rhode Island.
  • The Colonials are currently last in the Atlantic 10 in scoring offense, scoring 50.2 points per game, while they sit fourth in scoring defense, holding opponents to 57.9 points per contest.
  • Offensively, GW is led by Neila Luma who is scoring 10.1 points per contest, shooting 35.7% from the floor. Luma also paces the team in rebounds, corralling 5.6 boards per game.
  • Mei-Lyn Bautista is the team's next leading scorer with 9.2 ppg.
THE SERIES:
  • La Salle and George Washington have been playing since 1981, with the Colonials holding a 36-5 all-time record.
  • GW has won the last four games in the series, with La Salle's last win coming in 2014 on the road.
  • The Explorers last home win against the Colonials came back in 2011.
