SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS:
  • La Salle has dropped its last six games, most recently falling to George Washington, 67-59. It was a close game until the Colonials started to pull away late in the third quarter. Sophomore Rayshel Brown dropped a career high 21 points, while also matching her career mark in rebounds with eight. Senior Jeryn Reese registered her first career double-double with lifetime bests in points (14) and rebounds (11).
  • At least one Explorer has scored a career high in points in eight of the last 10 games.
  • Over the last 13 games, La Salle has posted a +25 turnover margin, with only five negative outings. Over that span, the team has collected 132 steals - good enough for 10.2 per contest.
  • With its success in the turnover department, La Salle ranks fifth in the conference with a +0.2 turnover margin, which coincides with the team's skill at grabbing steals. The Explorers are first in the A-10 in both steals (173) and steals per game (9.6). The 173 steals has La Salle ranked 30th nationally.
  • The game against Saint Joseph's will be the third of six consecutive games in the city of Philadelphia for the Explorers.
  • Brown is the team's active leading scorer with 7.8 points per game. Sophomore Michelle Nicholls (7.6 ppg) and Reese (7.1 ppg) are the next top scorers.
  • On the glass, junior Shalina Miller (6.2) and Reese (5.8) are topping the team in rebounds.
  • Miller is ranked fifth in program history in blocks with 81 and currently leads the conference in blocks with 32 on the season. The Philadelphia, Pa. native also ranks second in the A-10 with 1.8 blocks per outing.
SCOUTING THE HAWKS:
  • Saint Joseph's sits at 5-12 overall after falling to preseason Atlantic 10 favorite, Duquesne. The Hawks are 1-3 in the conference with losses to VCU, Saint Louis, and a win over St. Bonaventure. In Big 5 play, St. Joe's has fallen to Temple, Villanova, and Penn.
  • The Hawks are averaging 53.1 points per game with Alyssa Monaghan leading the way with 13.4 ppg. Monaghan, who scored her 1,000th point against Saint Louis, is second in the A-10 in terms of three-point field goal percentage. The senior is shooting 36.4% from long range, hitting 36 buckets on the season.
  • Outside of Monaghan, no other player is averaging more than 7.0 ppg.
  • On defense, SJU gives up 57.4 points per contest, which is third best in the Atlantic 10 and 39th nationally. Katie Mayock sits behind the Explorers' Miller for third in the A-10 in blocks (27) and blocks/game (1.6).
THE SERIES:
  • A history dating back to La Salle's inaugural season of 1972-73, the Explorers and Hawks have battled 58 times.

  • La Salle's last win over the Hawks came back in 2016, 75-70, at Gola.
