PHILADELPHIA – The 2019 La Salle softball scheduled has been released, announced head coach
Brooke Darreff. In her second season at the helm of the program, Darreff has a 51-game schedule lined up for the Explorers, including four tournaments to open the season and 17 home contests.
The first month of the season La Salle will be all over the east coast, playing in tournaments at Campbell (Buies Creek, N.C.), Elon (Elon, N.C.), Jacksonville (Jacksonville, Fla.), and South Florida (Clearwater, Fla.). Over those four tournaments, the Explorers will face off against 14 different opponents in 18 games from February 23 through March 17.
After the opening four tournaments, La Salle has five road games with two at crosstown rival, Penn, and a weekend three game series against Atlantic 10 foe, Saint Louis.
The Explorers open up the home season with five straight games, including a double header against the Wildcats from Villanova, before hosting St. Bonaventure for their second conference series of the season.
April opens up with another midweek double header, this time at Lafayette, which the team will have played in the tournament at Elon. After taking on the Leopards, La Salle heads to UMass to take on the Minutewomen to complete five straight road games.
West Campus Field will see the next five games of the schedule with Drexel coming by for a double header and A-10 opponent, Dayton, coming to Philly for the weekend.
Another conference series starts the next stretch of games as the Explorers travel to George Mason for a Friday and Saturday series against the Patriots. Following that, the Hawks from Saint Joseph's travel across the city as La Salle hosts its city foe for a double header.
The final week of the season has La Salle at Rhode Island for its final road conference series. The Explorers then travel to Delaware to wrap up its non-conference schedule against the Blue Hens in a double header. The regular season ends with George Washington coming North to Philadelphia for a weekend series.
