Jessica Bryant posted top-three finishes, while freshman
Shelby Kishel set a school record as the La Salle University women's track and field team opened up its outdoor season at the Penn Challenge at Franklin Field on Saturday.
WHERE THEY FINISHED
- Miller took a runner-up finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.64 meters, while Bryant was right behind in third with a mark of 5.57 meters. Bryant also placed third in the triple jump, leaping 11.48 meters.
- Kishel broke the school record in the javelin throw as she finished 11th out of 18, posting a mark of 37.27 meters. The mark had been held since 2006.
- Freshman Liz Mancini finished 11th out of 51 finishers in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:43.20. Sophomore Allana Powlette was 25th in the event at 4:50.64.
- Junior Desirae Osley placed 12th among 33 finishers in the 200-meter dash, running in 26.28 seconds.
- Sophomore Makayla Eberly was 13th among 32 in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:22.05. Freshman Arianna Wallace wasn't far behind in 18th, while fellow rookie Leah Sassaman was 24th.

- La Salle will compete in two meets next weekend, the Fred Hardy Invitational and the Florida Relays.
