Women’s Track & Field Aims to Continue Success at A-10 Outdoor Championships

PHILADELPHIA– With a number of school records already shattered this season, the La Salle University women's track and field team will aim to continue its outdoor success at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships this weekend.

WHO TO WATCH
  • Grace Mancini – Junior – 3,000m Steeplechase & 5,000m
    • Mancini is coming off her best track performance yet, breaking her own school record in the steeplechase at the Penn Relays last week. She placed third with a time of 10:07.47, landing her A-10 Track Performer of the Week honors. It's the top steeplechase time in the league, and Mancini is also third in the A-10 in the 5,000 meters.
    • Mancini won the 3,000 meters at the A-10 Indoor Championships back in February. Last year, she placed second in the steeplechase at the A-10 outdoor meet, qualifying for the NCAA East Regionals.
  • Ariel Mitchell – Senior – 100m Dash
    • Mitchell broke the school record in the 100-meter dash at the Sam Howell Invitational with a blazing time of 11.96 seconds. That time stands as the second fastest in the A-10 this season.
    • The sprinter also set the 60-meter dash school record at the A-10 Indoor Championships, where she placed second in the event. Mitchell finished fifth in the 100-meter dash at the 2018 A-10 outdoor meet.
  • Jessica Bryant – Junior – Long Jump & Triple Jump
    • Bryant has posted five top-5 finished in the long jump and triple jump this outdoor season. She put forth a personal best 11.82 meters in the triple jump at the Fred Hardy Invitational.
    • A defending Atlantic 10 Champion, Bryant took home gold in the long jump at last year's A-10 Outdoor Championships. She also placed fourth in the long jump at this year's indoor championships and second in the event at the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships.
  • Kaleah Miller – Senior – Long Jump & Triple Jump
    • Miller got off to a strong start this outdoor season, setting a school record in the triple jump at the Fred Hardy Invitational with a leap of 11.96 meters. That mark puts her among the top jumpers in the league in the event, and she has three top-3 finishes this season.
    • The senior finished fifth in the long jump and sixth in the triple jump at the A-10 Indoor Championships. Last year, she placed fourth in the triple jump and sixth in the long jump at the A-10 Outdoor Championships.
  • Others to keep an eye on:
    • Shelby Kishel – Freshman – Javelin
      • Kishel broke the school record in the javelin with a throw of 39.98 meters at the Larry Ellis Invitational.
    • Makayla Eberly – Sophomore – 800m
      • Eberly ran a personal best in the 800 meters at the George Mason Spring Invitational, running in 2:13.38.
    • Liz Mancini – Freshman – 5,000m
      • Mancini, an all-conference selection in cross country, has had success in the 1,500 meters, 5,000 meters, 3,000m steeplechase, distance medley relay and 4x800 relay.
