TOWSON, Md. - The La Salle field hockey team (3-2) looks to continue its winning ways this weekend with a pair of road contests, beginning on Friday at Towson. The Explorers, who will also face Georgetown on Sunday, have won two straight, including a thrilling shootout victory over LIU at Hank DeVincent Field on Sept. 15.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- A pair of La Salle players earned weekly honors from the Atlantic 10 for their performances against the Sharks.
- Senior Amanda Chapin was named A-10 Co-Offensive Player of the Week after registering two assists in regulation and scoring the lone goal during the penalty shootout.
- Freshman Chloe South earned A-10 Defensive Player of the Week accolades following a seven-save performance that saw her enter the game at halftime.
- South also denied all five LIU players during the penalty shootout.
- Senior Lauren Lechleitner and freshman Samie Hackman found the back of the cage during regulation of the match.Â
- Lechleitner ranks second on the team in goals scored with three, one behind junior Rialee Allen.
- Hackman's goal was the first of her collegiate career, and makes her the fourth freshman this season to score a goal for the Explorers.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
- Towson is winless entering this weekend (0-5), having dropped its last match by a 7-0 score to American.
- The Tigers have faced some stiff competition thus far, suffering losses to No. 4 Maryland and still-unbeaten Appalachian State.
- Georgia Beachley is the leading scorer in 2019 with two goals and five points.
- La Salle has won three of the last four matchups between the two schools, with the last meeting coming in 2017.

- Georgetown has alternated wins and losses through the first six games of the season, resulting in a 3-3 record.
- In their last outing, the Hoyas lost to Lehigh, 3-0.
- Lindsay Getz has three goals and an assist for a team-best seven points this season.
- This marks the fifth straight season that the two teams have played one another, with Georgetown winning three of the prior four contests.
