PHILADELPHIA – Sophomore Liz Mancini won the 3,000-meter run for the La Salle University women's track & field team at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday. The Explorers also competed at the Fastrack National Invite.
 
WHERE THEY FINISHED

• Mancini edged out teammate freshman Jerika Lufrano as La Salle finished 1-2. Mancini won in 9:45.47 and Lufrano crossed in 9:45.78.
• Sophomore El Mancini finished 26th in the 5,000 meters in 16:55.86, while freshman Christine Mancini ran the 800 in 2:14.72.
• The remainder of the Explorers were at the Fastrack National Invite. Freshman Amy Conboy led the way with a runner-up finish in the 5,000 meters with a mark of 17:43.62, while juniors Tessa Gibbons and Deirdre Gilmore finished seventh and eighth, respectively.
• Freshman Olabisi Adams posted a fifth place showing in the long jump with a leap of 5.44 meters and also placed ninth in the 200 meters in 26.57 seconds.
• Freshman Sammie Miller finished sixth in the 800 meters with a mark of 2:18.20.

• La Salle will head to the Atlantic 10 Championships Feb. 29-March 1.
